Canisius College (C.C) was 80 years old in 2007. This educational institution was run by The Jesuit Order. From the day the school opened on 1927, Canisius has aimed to remain true to its spirit on its protector St. Peter Canisius (8 May 1521 – 2 December 1597). He was an outstanding educator who emphasized "Persevera" which means the spirit to be dilligent and taft to grow. This kind of spirit should be owned by each of the Canisian, a name for the students or graduates of Canisius. They should be someone who can best be described as "to be men for and with others". A man who can work with others and for the good of others.

It was obvious that with Persevera, Canisius College could guide the students especially by giving priority to the character education without neglecting the intelectual one. Canisius College believes that Indonesia needs people who have good characters especially people who strongly hold honesty. This is what Canisius College wants to contribute to this country.

Canisius also gives so many training opportunities to the students in any major such as art (skillful and appreciative), sport (skillful and healthy), organization (leading or to be led and serving), spirituality (reflective and havingrelationship with God), Academic (skillful and thinking logically). Facilities were also provided so that the teaching and learning process can answer all those needs.

The teaching and learning process is based and end up to a vision and missions. The vision is to make Canisius College the center of genuine educational service to faithful future leaders. As a school, Canisius makes an effort to educate the students to have 3C, competence, conscience and compassion happily. As a Catholic school, Canisius tries to help the students to get accustomed to reflect, to feel the love of the Lord and to fight for the glory of the God through the service to others,especially to the unfortunate. As an Indonesian school, Canisius also attempts to encourage the students to seek for the truth with honesty, communicate and apply it for the development of others, the environment and the country. Those are the missions of Canisius College.
