CAD
Canisius Art and Design (C.A.D), is the new name of CaniArt, which is founded on February 5th 1987 by Ponco A.J, Boedy P.Paul Luhur and supported by Boeboe, Brevy, sand Kris M. The ‘transition’ to CAD is the refreshment of the old format for participation scarceness in 2005-2006. The fresh idea of Dian Lazuardi, Ady Christya, and Philips Wira (PeW), also braced by Ido, Ferdi (Dwi), Steffy, Jonathan, Handri, Vallie and Kevin Kristorio, assisted by Maam Woro, the teacher behind its activities, CaniArt was transformed to C.A.D by extracting its reach to sculpting, fashion design, architecture, graphical design, and ikebana.
Dian, the former chairperson of C.A.D creatively depicted the ‘C.A.D’. Its letter A represents the creativiveness acuity and the sharpness of its members’ dedication. The letter ‘C’ and ‘D’ are shaped like a pair of bond discs symbolizing the infinity of art.
C.A.D holds routine meetings each Thursday after school in the class XIIC, with the assistance of Maam Woro, C.A.D has engendered its best work. It doesn’t only utilize canvas, pencil or paint, but also printing, clay, and origami. Even for the 2008 project, C.A.D, led by Ady scheduled ‘World for Play’ – a 3D Monopoly game, which was unfortunately unable to be realized because of the incoming National Exam.
There were doubts about C.A.D’s existence, which were proscribed by the CSAC 2007 for it being one of the most visited and desired extracurricular stands. It displayed its origami, painting, sketches, body painting, clay and even the ‘Clairvoyance’ – which was pioneered only in this 2007 C.A.D. C.A.D’s achievements include its members being the champion and fifth runner-up of the grafitti competition for ’Canisius 80th Anniversary’, and the first and second runner-up of the ‘Expression Day’ for the painting and poster divisions respectively. C.A.D’s alumni are undoubtedly exceptional; Dian – accepted for architecture PMDK, while Ady succesfully participated in the prestigious National Fashion Design competition in May, 2008.
Though it’s lacking of participants, in 2008 to 2009, Jonathan, the new chairperson is predicted to lead the C.A.D into its glorious era with its celebrations of art-themed occasions, including Canisius Art Blast, CSAC, etc. Its new vision is ‘Be Unique’, based on creativeness demands to stimulate C.A.D to flourish.
